War Child Music Festival

Self Cynic to perform at War Child Music Festival
Tuesday Sept 21st in Toronto
Self Cynic is honoured to have been asked to participate in War Child's 3rd annual "Busking for CHANGE" music festival in Toronto. This year's event will take place on International Peace Day - Tuesday Sept 21st
Along with Self Cynic, many other musicians, including Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Chantal Kreviazuk, KO, The Reason, Ron Hawkins, The Midway State, The Artist Life, the Shuffle Demons, and Neverending White Lights, will busk to raise money at pre-determined locations in downtown Toronto. Money collected at each site, and through online donations, will support War Child and their work with war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.
Busking For CHANGE was inspired by Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, who spent twelve hours busking for War Child on Toronto streets in 2007, while publicizing his solo album, The Hunter's Lullaby and filming the music video for the album's first single. Raine raised $22,000 for War Child's School Rebuilding Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Self Cynic has set a personal goal of raising $500 in donations. War Child has provided each band with a website to collect online donations, in the event you are unable to attend the festival itself. Please help us reach (and surpass!) our goal by pledging your support online and circulating this information to all your friends & family.
Hey, click here (...no, seriously!)
We will pass along more information, including details for our performance(s), in the weeks to come.
Thank you for your time, support and encouragement!
-Matt (Self Cynic)
