Press Club: Monday Feb 27th, 2012 (Toronto)
Monday nights at Press Club have become a great night for music (mostly due to our good friend Ian Philp). I'm very excited to be sharing the night with Paddy Townsend, who'll be playing along with me during my set ... as well as The Executives (great band). If you're up for some good music and a great time, I highly recommend you stop by.

The Roxton Every Sunday (Toronto)
The Roxton is a really great little place near the corner of Harbord & Ossington in Toronto, and I'm pleased to announce that, starting in October, I'll be holding a Sunday night residency there (indefinitely). So please come check it out. The kitchen is great, the staff are friendly, and the music will begin every Sunday around 9:30pm. Hope to see you out.

Update - August 2011
Hey Everyone!
There's quite a bit of news to announce this month.
Self Cynic has once again been asked to perform at this year's Busking For Change SuperCrawl. This online campaign and festival performance on September 10th, 2011 will raise money for War Child during the SuperCrawl festival in Hamilton, Ontario. The band is looking forward to their acoustic set and day full of music, art and street fair. And War Child is holding a contest for the band who raises the most money --- the winner gets a slot on the SuperCrawl mainstage!

Next, we've been busy the last couple of weeks writing & recording some new songs. We're very happy with how things are sounding, so far. We'll keep working hard this month and will hopefully have new releases for you shortly!
Finally, we'd just like to say 'Thank You' to those who were able to make it to our recent shows. We had a blast, and enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces. We hope you also enjoyed yourselves, and hope to see you out again this fall. Stay tuned.

Update - May 2011
This past year has been a very productive time for me and the Self Cynic project. It's been a time to both scale up and scale down how it is we do things. A time to prioritize what it is we hope to accomplish, which, after much confused debate regarding an ever-changing music business, we've re-confirmed is to write songs and record music. The word "success" is a complicated one; and never more so than when discussing the current music industry. But we're very proud of the sounds we've been creating lately, and the new collection of songs we have to share with you as a result. And our recent shows, decorated with enthusiastic faces, have been great fun. And that, in and of itself, seems a great success. We're also very excited about what's to come this year. The pieces have been put in-place that will allow us to continue exploring sonically, and to share our findings with you. Thank you exponentially for all your support and interest. Drop a line. We look forward to hearing from you sometime soon.

War Child Music Festival
Self Cynic to perform at War Child Music Festival
Tuesday Sept 21st in Toronto
Self Cynic is honoured to have been asked to participate in War Child's 3rd annual "Busking for CHANGE" music festival in Toronto. This year's event will take place on International Peace Day - Tuesday Sept 21st
Along with Self Cynic, many other musicians, including Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Chantal Kreviazuk, KO, The Reason, Ron Hawkins, The Midway State, The Artist Life, the Shuffle Demons, and Neverending White Lights, will busk to raise money at pre-determined locations in downtown Toronto. Money collected at each site, and through online donations, will support War Child and their work with war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.
Busking For CHANGE was inspired by Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, who spent twelve hours busking for War Child on Toronto streets in 2007, while publicizing his solo album, The Hunter's Lullaby and filming the music video for the album's first single. Raine raised $22,000 for War Child's School Rebuilding Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Self Cynic has set a personal goal of raising $500 in donations. War Child has provided each band with a website to collect online donations, in the event you are unable to attend the festival itself. Please help us reach (and surpass!) our goal by pledging your support online and circulating this information to all your friends & family.
Hey, click here (...no, seriously!)
We will pass along more information, including details for our performance(s), in the weeks to come.
Thank you for your time, support and encouragement!
